About the role
The Senior Content Writer will create high-quality, SEO-driven content for a U.S.-focused personal finance and lending audience. Working closely with the Content Lead, editors, and SEO team, this role will take ownership of content from research through publication-ready delivery. The work will directly support reader education, organic search visibility, and business goals.
What you'll do
- Research, write, and optimize high-quality English-language content on personal finance and lending topics.
- Create comprehensive lender reviews, loan comparison articles, educational guides, SEO landing pages, and other content formats.
- Explain complex financial concepts in clear, accessible language for a U.S. audience.
- Conduct thorough research using credible and authoritative sources, including official lender websites, government resources, and financial institutions.
- Independently verify financial information, including APR ranges, fees, credit score requirements, loan amounts, repayment terms, and eligibility criteria.
- Adapt writing style and structure to different search intents, audiences, and content objectives.
- Produce SEO-friendly content based on keyword research, search intent, and detailed content briefs.
- Apply SEO best practices, including effective headings, keyword integration, internal linking, and content structure.
- Analyze competing content to identify opportunities for better coverage, clarity, and usefulness.
- Update and improve existing articles to maintain accuracy, relevance, and organic search performance.
- Collaborate with SEO specialists and editors to improve content quality, search visibility, and user engagement.
- Follow Google's content quality principles, including E-E-A-T considerations for YMYL topics.
- Deliver well-structured, polished, and publication-ready content with minimal editing required.
- Ensure every article meets editorial guidelines, quality standards, and brand voice requirements.
- Fact-check financial claims, statistics, product details, and other information before submission.
- Maintain accuracy and objectivity when describing and comparing financial products.
- Incorporate editorial feedback and continuously improve content based on quality reviews and performance insights.
- Ensure content is original, informative, and genuinely useful rather than generic or unnecessarily repetitive.
- Work closely with the Content Lead, editors, and SEO team to deliver content according to agreed priorities and deadlines.
- Proactively identify content gaps, outdated information, and opportunities to improve existing pages.
- Contribute ideas for new content, improved article structures, and more effective research processes.
- Share editorial knowledge and best practices with other writers when needed.
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly to support research and production while independently verifying all factual information.
Must-have
- 4+ years of professional experience in content writing, SEO writing, digital publishing, or a related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (C1–C2), with excellent grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.
- Proven experience producing long-form, research-intensive, SEO-optimized content.
- Strong understanding of on-page SEO, keyword research, search intent, and content optimization.
- Excellent research, analytical, and fact-checking skills.
- Ability to understand complex topics and explain them clearly to a non-expert audience.
- Experience working with content briefs, editorial guidelines, and structured review processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage assignments, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience using content management systems and common writing and editorial tools.

Nice-to-have

- Experience creating content for financial comparison platforms, affiliate websites, or lead generation projects.
- Experience writing lender reviews, product comparisons, and commercial-intent SEO articles.
- Familiarity with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of YMYL content standards, financial advertising considerations, and affiliate disclosure practices.
- Experience using WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- Experience improving existing content based on organic traffic, rankings, and conversion data.
