About the role
This role exists to develop the supplier and service partner network supporting projects across Latin America. You will identify and qualify suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, subcontractors, and service providers, then connect their capabilities with customer requirements and opportunities. Working remotely from Buenos Aires, you will collaborate closely with U.S.-based sales, business development, operations, contract, logistics, and other specialist teams. Your work will expand regional capabilities, geographic coverage, product access, and delivery capacity.
What you'll do
- Research and connect with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, subcontractors, and service providers across Latin America.
- Use proactive outreach, calls, referrals, business associations, and industry research to start conversations and build relationships.
- Understand each partner’s capabilities, service locations, capacity, lead times, and interest in working with the company.
- Distinguish between partners that can deliver directly in a location and those that rely on additional subcontractors or intermediaries.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospective partners and follow through from first contact to a qualified, active working relationship.
- Work with U.S. sales, business development, operations, and contract teams to identify gaps in the LATAM partner network.
- Develop relationships that expand the ability to support customer requirements across countries, cities, and remote locations.
- Identify alternative suppliers and backup service providers to improve responsiveness and delivery reliability.
- Assess practical delivery considerations, including local availability, staffing, service coverage, transportation, and access to required resources.
- Keep partner capability and availability information current so teams can respond confidently to new opportunities.
- Translate customer requirements into clear requests for quotations in English or Spanish.
- Source products and services and compare offers based on specifications, quality, price, availability, delivery, and compliance requirements.
- Clarify quotation currency, validity, payment terms, taxes, freight, and other inclusions or exclusions so offers can be compared accurately.
- Consider local sourcing and cross-border options, coordinating with logistics and other specialists when import, export, or customs requirements affect delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and commercial commitments that support competitive proposals and healthy margins.
- Find practical alternatives when the requested product, service, or delivery arrangement is difficult to secure.
- Communicate confidently in English with U.S. colleagues and customers, and in Spanish with regional partners.
- Prepare clear English summaries of supplier capabilities, quotations, recommendations, risks, and next steps.
- Support customer quotations and proposals with accurate pricing, scope details, and partner commitments.
- Clarify technical or commercial questions with the appropriate internal team rather than making unsupported assumptions.
- Support the handoff of awarded opportunities to operations, ensuring that negotiated terms and partner commitments are documented.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach, contacts, capabilities, geographic coverage, quotations, and follow-up actions in shared systems.
- Manage multiple requests, countries, partners, and deadlines.
- Coordinate across time zones and communicate early when information is missing or a deadline is at risk.
- Support partner qualification and onboarding by collecting company information, references, and required documentation.
- Research regional market conditions and identify opportunities to improve pricing, coverage, and service options.
